 Concord NC and the Charlotte metropolitan area
contain a plethora of things to do and places to
see. Residents and visitors both revel in all
the options, as there seems to always be
something going on or something to do in Concord

With Concord NC being home to Lowe’s
Motor Speedway, there is an abundance of things
to do that revolve around
racing and NASCAR. Lowe’s Motor Speedway
features NASCAR, IROC, IRL, and World Karting
and Legends Racing. In addition to the two major
NASCAR races that take place at the speedway
each year in May and October, the speedway is
home to the NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway which
features fun stock car simulators. Also in the
area is Concord Motorsport Park. Both the
Motorsport Park and Lowe’s Motor Speedway
feature NASCAR weekly racing series for stock
cars and Legends and Bandolero racing from April
through October.
Concord NC is also home to Concord Mills Mall,
which is one of the finest shopping centers in
North Carolina and perhaps one of the top
attractions in the state.
Inside Concord Mills you’ll find the NASCAR Speedpark, a movie theatre, Jillian’s Sports
Restaurant and more stores than you can imagine. It’s just 2 miles from Lowe’s Motor
Speedway and 17 miles from uptown Charlotte, and
it is simply the #1 destination for all your
shopping and entertainment needs in the area.
 A popular stop and historic site is the Reed
Gold Mine, which is the location where gold was
first discovered in the United States, in 1799.
Visitors to the mine can pan for gold and tour
the underground mine tunnels to learn more about
the area’s history.
Kannapolis’s “class-A” baseball team, the
Intimidators, is always a fan favorite and
their season runs from April to September. Watch
a game and cheer for the home team!
There are several parks in the area that provide
excellent recreational opportunities and plenty
of hiking, biking, and other trails to enjoy.
Golf is popular in the area as the Charlotte
metropolitan area is home to Pinehurst, one of
the top golf destinations in the United States.
