Rowan County NC is located in the central part of North Carolina and surrounded by the neighboring counties of Davie, Davidson, Stanly, Cabarrus, and Iredell. Part of the Yadkin River basin and bordered by Lake Norman to the west and High Rock Lake to the east, Rowan County’s land is lush with rolling hills. The climate and weather of Rowan County NC is mild and moderate, with extreme weather patterns rare to the area. Summers in Rowan County are warm and dry with temperatures in the mid 90’s. In the colder months, Rowan County experiences cooler temperatures in the 30’s, however Rowan County usually does not reach extreme temperatures in either season. Dan Nicholas Park is also a famous spot in the county, with a 425 acre complex that includes a nature preserve, petting zoo, carousel, miniature train ride, miniature golf, a 10 acre lake, and campground.

High Rock Lake, a 15,000 acre lake located in Salisbury is a popular spot for residents to relax and enjoy boating, fishing, swimming and other fun on the water. The Eagle Point nature preserve was just created on High Rock Lake and offers visitors a chance to see the local wildlife in a natural habitat. Also at Eagle Point, there are hiking trails for exploring the nature preserve.
